Lightweight, robust and easy to use

The Dräger PSS 3000 is one of the lightest ever self-contained respirator handling systems. The extremely robust harness incorporates a new and innovative ultra-lightweight, high-strength carbon alloy carrier cage with exceptional thermal resistance, impact resistance and chemical resistance. Suitable for use in all conditions, the easy and quick donning, lightweight harness is specially designed to retain its shape over a wide range of ambient temperatures and conditions. Manufactured with materials that have high chemical resistance and abrasion resistance and also meet the heat and flame requirements of EN137:2006 (Type 2).

The Dräger PSS 3000 breathing apparatus allows the user to benefit from modern respiratory protection technology, incorporating the same advanced pneumatic system used in the PSS 7000 breathing apparatus, the choice of leading Fire Brigades around the world.

Improved transport system

Utilising state-of-the-art pressure mapping technology, a carrying system has been developed that follows the natural contours of the body and is therefore more stable and creates less back pressure, tension and fatigue. The harness follows the contours of the body, providing maximum comfort on both shoulders and at the waist, while comfortably and safely improving load distribution in line with the body’s centre of gravity. Despite the emphasis on wearing comfort, no compromise has been made in selecting the toughest and most durable materials available to minimise the impact of the harshest environments.

Advanced technology

Using a revamped design and high quality pneumatic elements from professional firefighter breathing apparatus, the Dräger PAS Lite ensures consistently high performance and reliability with minimal maintenance over the life of the apparatus. The transport system incorporates a very lightweight, high-strength carbon composite cage with excellent impact, heat and chemical resistance and superior durability.

Integrated hose design

The air supply and gauge hoses are fitted to the space cage, thus reducing the risk of snagging and jamming. This allows the user to switch the hose position from one side to the other according to their own preference. The fully integrated hose design also means that hoses can be changed easily and economically.

Compatible with other Dräger breathing apparatus, the Dräger PAS Lite allows users to benefit from the tried and tested systems that underpin the best breathing apparatus in the world. Developed as a result of many years and extensive consultation with users, these benefits include the use of the same advanced pneumatic components as those in Dräger’s full range of professional firefighting products.

Efficient load distribution

Using new materials shaped and designed to provide maximum comfort in the shoulders and lower back, the carrying system has been developed to reduce back pain, stress and fatigue. The innovative strap design provides excellent weight distribution on the shoulders. The durable rubberised fabric performed well in the fire penetration test in accordance with EN137 Type 2 and also has excellent wearing comfort and chemical resistance properties.
